The City of Cape Town is a proud supporter of the fifth edition of the Cape Town Electronic Music Festival (CTEMF), which takes place from 5 - 7 February 2016 at the City Hall.
This year’s line-up boasts a variety of local and international DJs and electronic music makers featuring the sounds of house, techno, electronica, drum and bass and more.
Since 2012, the CTEMF has grown in popularity and has become one of the most relevant events on Africa’s music festival calendar, not only for the beats produced but also for its workshop component which precedes the core music festival.
Electronic music workshops open to the public
The three-day workshop component, which takes place from 2 to 4 February 2016, is an opportunity to learn about the inner workings of the electronic music industry. Local and international artists will share their experiences and what they believe are the secrets to making a success in the electronic music industry.
The workshops will take place at venues across Cape Town, including the Guga S’Thebe Arts and Culture Centre in Langa, and will feature discussions with among others Petit Noir, Goldie, DJ Superfly and Chloe. The workshops are free for the public to attend, but space is limited so make sure you get to the venues early to ensure a seat.
Tickets for the music festival at City Hall are limited and start at R300 for a one-day pass and R700 for a weekend pass. Visit the CTEMF website for further information.
