City commences with road resurfacing in Strand

14 November 2024

We would like to thank the residents in Strand for their patience while the works are under way this month

The City’s Road Infrastructure Management Department commenced with road resurfacing in the area this week. The work is planned to take place between 07:00 and 17:00 from Monday to Friday until 29 November 2024, if all goes as planned.

The resurfacing and rehabilitation works mostly entail the milling of the existing roads and filling it with a new asphalt surfacing layer.

‘We would like to thank the residents in Strand for their patience while the works are under way this month. Some noise can be expected at times, however the team is committed to completing the resurfacing as efficiently as possible. Soon, road users in the area will be able to enjoy better riding quality along these streets as part of our efforts in keeping Capetonians moving,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.

Traffic moving in both directions will be affected and flag personnel will direct traffic through temporary detours around the work area.

Vehicles parked in the road and obstructing the maintenance work will have to be moved or towed.
