City commences with road resurfacing in Rondebosch this week
4 November 2024
Roadworks in Rondebosch‘These works along Milner and Kromboom Road have been scheduled to take place between 18:00 and 06:00 from Sunday to Friday, while minor works will be carried out during the day between 08:00 and 18:00. This way we have ensured that these works cause the least amount of disruption along these very busy roads during the course of the day. Residents and business owners can expect some noise during this time, however no work will take place on Friday and Saturday evenings. This forms part of regular maintenance of the City’s road network in order to keep Cape Town moving,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.
This project will include the resurfacing of all the affected roads mentioned:
• Along Milner Road, repairs to the base layers and the replacement of kerbs and channels will be undertaken, along with the milling and removal of existing asphalt.
• On Kromboom Road, resurfacing and the repair and replacement of kerbs and channels will be carried out. Maintenance will also be conducted on the bridge joints over the M5 motorway. Additionally, existing road markings will be reinstated, and retro-reflective road markings will be painted.
The City of Cape Town Urban Mobility directorate would like to thank road users for their patience.
