City commences with road marking along Voortrekker Road

The City of Cape Town’s Urban Mobility Directorate hereby advises residents, road users and businesses of the painting of road markings along Voortrekker Road between Jakes Gerwel Road and Salt River circle in the Maitland area. The roadworks will commence today, 23 November and is anticipated to be completed over the next week by Thursday, 30 November 2023, provided there are no unforeseen delays.
The work will be done on weekdays from 07:30 until 17:00 and night work will take place between 20:00 and 04:00
The traffic will be accommodated under temporary stop/go controls during the hours of construction and where possible, traffic will be detoured around the site
'Our Roads Infrastructure Management team will be freshening up the look of Voortrekker Road in the Maitland area over the next week by doing the road marking maintenance required and repainting faded markings. We anticipate some traffic congestion and ask that residents and businesses in the area cooperate with the staff on the ground and are patient while the works are under way so that we can get the road marking done as efficiently as possible. Road users are requested to use alternative routes during this period,' said the City's Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.
