9 March 2025
The City of Cape Town’s Mayoral Committee Member for Corporate Services, Alderman Theresa Uys, visited the Lwandle Community Hall in Strand‘Let me first thank the City’s Strand Environmental Health office for extending this invitation and seeing the opportunity to raise awareness on how to use the City’s App around Strand’s informal settlements. I walked the streets, met residents and listened to their concerns about their complaints not being reported on time. We then gathered at the community hall and did a step-by-step presentation on how to use the App,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Corporate Services, Alderman Theresa Uys.
The City's mobile app is available for download in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
Customers can view their area's load-shedding status and timetables, find a local councillor, use the app to log service requests, comment on public issues that affect them and even log in to e-Services to access and pay their municipal bills.
‘We would like to encourage residents to use their smartphones to take ownership and care when it comes to all the basic services rendered in their respective communities,’ concluded Alderman Uys.
