City advises residents of Muizenberg and Simon’s Town of cash office closures
12 November 2018
Over the past two years, the City has taken a more rigorous approach to measuring operational accountability and cost-effectiveness of the various municipal cash offices.
The City has identified the Simon’s Town and Muizenberg cash offices as under-utilised facilities within the City of Cape Town’s jurisdiction.
In response to previous performance reviews, including the number of visitors and money receipted, the services provided at these facilities has been progressively reduced. The most recent performance review taken over a six-month period justifies the decision to close these offices.
Residents are reminded that the payment of their municipal accounts (excluding motor vehicle licences) may be made at any Shoprite/Checkers, Pick n Pay, Pep Stores, Woolworths and selected Spar stores or at any branch of the Post Office.
