City advises of water supply disruption to Camps Bay, Clifton, Bakoven, Oudekraal, Green Point and Fresnaye

6 May 2022

The City’s Water and Sanitation Directorate will be shutting off the water supply pipeline from the Kloofnek Reservoir on Monday, 9 May 2022 from 22:00 until 04:00 on Tuesday, 10 May 2022.
Residents in Camps Bay, Bakoven, Oudekraal and Clifton will experience no water while residents in Green Point and Fresnaye (above High Level Road) will experience low water pressure during this period.

‘Careful consideration has been given to the work to ensure that it is done at a time that is least disruptive to our residents.

‘Residents in these areas are kindly requested to store water upfront in clean, sealed containers for domestic consumption during this period and to keep their taps closed to prevent any water loss and/or damage when the supply is restored.

‘Stand pipes will be set up in High Level Road to provide water for domestic purposes if required and a water tanker will be stationed in Camps Bay at the parking area behind Pick ‘n Pay next to the Camps Bay library,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Water and Sanitation, Councillor Zahid Badroodien.

The City regrets any inconvenience caused, but it is imperative that it maintains and upgrades its water supply infrastructure to benefit its consumers .
