City advises of water supply disruption in Peacock Close, off Strandfontein Road
11 January 2022
The City’s Water and Sanitation Department will be shutting off the water supply to Peacock Close, off Strandfontein Road. The work involves cutting into the pipeline to connect a pressure reduction valve (PRV) to the water supply network.
‘The Water and Sanitation Department is installing a pressure reduction valve in the Peacock Close pipeline that helps manage the pressure in the system and which also extends the lifespan of our pipes and protects infrastructure from future bursts. I encourage residents living in the vicinity to store water in sealed containers before we start the work on 13 January. It is normal that residents might experience changes in water pressure when we work on the pipelines,’ said Councillor Zahid Badroodien, Mayoral Committee Member for Water and Sanitation.
This work forms part of the City’s Water Demand Management Strategy. Managing water pressure more effectively reduces the possibility of pipe bursts and water wastage.
The City regrets any inconvenience caused.
