City advises of water supply disruption in Kraaifontein on Wednesday 5 August
4 August 2020
The City’s Water and Sanitation Department will be doing emergency repairs on the 900mm diameter water main supplying the Kraaifontein area on Wednesday 5 August 2020.This work will involve the replacement of a critical collar on the water main as it leaves the reservoir.
This emergency repair work will result in the temporary disruption of the water supply to Bonnie Brae, Goliath Estate, Viking Village, Windsor Park Estate, Peerless Park North, Peerless Park East, Peerless Park West, Zoo Park, Windsor Park, Peerless Park West, Windsor Estate, Uitzicht, Avalon Estate, Pinehurst, Langeberg Heights, Joostenberg Vlakte and Buh-Rein Estate on Wednesday 5 August 2020 from 09:00 until 16:00.
Water supply has been rerouted to these areas to minimise the inconvenience as far as possible and will see most of these areas experiencing low water pressure and a few areas possibly without water.
Residents are kindly requested to store water upfront in clean sealed containers for use during this period.
Residents are also requested to minimise their water consumption (those who have water supplied) and those who don’t have water are requested to keep their taps closed to minimise water loss and/or water damage when the water supply is restored.
The City sincerely regrets any inconvenience caused, but it is imperative that we maintain our water supply infrastructure in a manner that will ensure the provision of a good and healthy quality drinking water to our citizens.
