City advises of water supply disruption in Hout Bay
15 September 2020
The City’s Water and Sanitation Department is currently conducting emergency repairs to its 350mm diameter water main that supplies a large part of Hout Bay. As a result, parts of the Hangberg, Hout Bay Heights and Kronenberg areas will experience no water supply.
The burst main is located under a sand dune in the vicinity of Mariner’s Wharf.
The department is doing all it can to complete the work in the shortest possible time, given the adverse conditions and the impact this may have on the various communities.
Two water tankers will roam in the affected areas.
Residents are requested to keep their taps closed during this period to prevent water loss and/or water damage when the water supply is restored.
The City sincerely regrets any inconvenience caused during this time.
