City advises of water supply disruption in Hout Bay tonightThe work involves the replacement of a defective valve on a bulk water meter in Bergendal and a faulty isolating valve on the corner of Johan and Scott Road. While the water supply is shut off, an isolating valve will be installed on the corner of Scott and Main Roads, which will improve the water supply management in the area.
The work will commence at 20:00 and is anticipated to be completed by 05:00 tomorrow morning, Thursday, 18 February. This will result in Beach Estate, Baviaanskloof, and the surrounding areas in the vicinity of Scott Road being without water during this period.
Careful consideration has been given to plan the emergency work during a time that is the least disruptive for consumers.
Residents are kindly requested to store water upfront in clean, sealed containers for domestic use during this period. Residents must also ensure that their taps are kept closed during these times to prevent water wastage and/or damage when the water supply is restored.
The City sincerely regrets the inconvenience caused, but it is imperative that it maintains its water supply infrastructure to benefit its consumers.
