City advises of water supply disruption affecting San Michel in Noordhoek
9 December 2020
The City’s Water and Sanitation Department will be conducting zero pressure tests on the main water supply in San Michel in Noordhoek
Zero pressure testing involves shutting off all known water supply to a certain area to determine if there are any unmapped inflows, which need to be taken into account before installation of smart pressure management infrastructure at a later date.
Installation of pressure management infrastructure will allow the City to manage water pressure more effectively, thereby reducing the possibility of pipe bursts, and water wastage.
The area affected by the water disruption is between Opal Way and Silvermine Road in San Michel.
Businesses and residents are advised to store water in clean, sealed containers for use during this period.
They should also ensure their taps are closed during this period to avoid water loss or damage when the supply is restored.
The City regrets any inconvenience caused.
