City advises of critical electricity maintenance in Heideveld, Manenberg

Upcoming planned electricity interruptions in Heideveld and Manenberg

The City advises residents in the Heideveld and Manenberg area of upcoming critical electricity supply interruptions for maintenance, which will be carried out from 08:00 until 18:00 on Thursday, 8 October 2026. The duration of the outage is an estimate. Restoration could be delayed due to the complex nature of the work. To view the area outage maps, access the Heideveld map and Manenberg map. The City apologises for any inconvenience caused while the essential maintenance is being carried out. 

The maintenance is essential to enhance the quality and reliability of electricity supply in Heideveld and Manenberg. It is important to note that interruptions to supply will impact the areas on the maps and on the relevant date. The work is planned to be carried out from 08:00 until 18:00 on Thursday, 8 October 2026, if all goes to plan. 
 
The outage may impact parts of the following streets, among others.

Heideveld section, streets affected are:

  • Sentinel
  • Waaihoek
  • Witberg

Manenberg section, streets affected are:

  • Houhoek 
  • Venster 
  • Towerkop
  • Kareedou
  • Grootkop

The electricity supply could be restored at any time, and customers must please treat all electrical installations as live for the full duration of the planned maintenance work. Residents are encouraged to switch off appliances as a precaution to avoid damage caused by power surges when the power comes back on.
