The launch of the Ocean View Heritage Tour underlines the critical importance of adopting a holistic approach in managing and developing local tourism offerings

‘The launch of the Ocean View Heritage Tour underlines the critical importance of adopting a holistic approach in managing and developing local tourism offerings.

‘Tourism growth is the collective domain of the public sector, private sector and the community at large. The successful implementation of the Tourism Development Framework will largely depend on the ability of the sector to establish effective and efficient partnerships across the various tiers of government and between key public, private and community-based actors. This launch is a prime example of what can happen when we collaborate with various roleplayers,’ said Economic Opportunities and Asset Management Portfolio Committee Chairperson, Councillor Anda Ntsodo.

‘The City of Cape Town took a huge step forward in further implementing our Ten-point Tourism Strategy with the launch of Cape Town Tourism’s 2021 Visitor Guide. When the strategy was launched a few weeks ago, one of our aims was to ensure that we show that the Mother City is a safe and affordable destination for visitors. With the new look guide’s interactive digital features, detailed information on health and safety, and advice on budget-friendly experiences all around Cape Town, I’m excited for people to rediscover the joy and diversity of our wonderful city, and to open up the tourism sector again in a big way,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Economic Opportunities and Asset Management, Alderman James Vos.
