Cape Town dam levels decline by 0,8%

20 April 2020

Weekly dam levels' update.

Water consumption for the same period increased slightly to 663 million litres per day. Consumption the previous week was at 658 million litres per day.

‘While relatively low consumption levels could be in part attributed to the nationwide lockdown, which has seen a reduction in commercial and industrial activity, it is normal for consumption to drop as we head into the winter months. These figures are more or less in line with historical patterns for this time of year.

‘Hopes remain high that this winter will see the breaking of the worst drought on record,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Water and Waste, Alderman Xanthea Limberg.
