Cape Town dam levels at 77,8%

27 July 2020

Dam levels update.

At the same time last year, dam levels stood at 71,6%.

‘After some strapping downpours recently, our dam level percentage jumped comfortably into the 70s, but this past week has seen a return to the unseasonably mild conditions of the ongoing drought. Rainfall continues to track at below the historical average, but there is still some time before our rainy season tapers off and the 2020/2021 water outlook can be assessed. For now, we ask that residents please continue being mindful of their water consumption, because summer dam levels are made in winter,’ said Mayoral Committee Member for Water and Waste, Alderman Xanthea Limberg.
