Alderman Andrews delivering a speech at the commemoration of the Battle of Delville Wood soldiers.

‘The men were in a fierce and deadly battle and today are remembered for their relentless courage. They fought until the end. Sadly, most of them lost their lives and were buried where they died.

It’s been over 100 years since the battle but we still remember the young men as they were the true epitome of strength and resilience.

They may be long gone but their spirit of courage is still with us,’ said the Deputy Mayor and Mayoral Committee Member for Spatial Planning and Environment,’Alderman Eddie Andrews.
