Additional planned water supply maintenance in Gordon’s Bay: 31 January and 1 February 2024
29 January 2024
The City’s Water and Sanitation Directorate will be doing additional planned work in certain areas, which will result in water supply disruptions.
Maintenance work, including pipe and valve installations, repairs and replacements will result in the water supply disruption to a large part of Gordon's Bay (Dobson).
The water supply to a large part of Gordon's Bay bounded by Sir Lowry's Pass Road, Dennehof Street, Disa Road and the Coastline will be shut off from 08:00 until 18:00 on both Wednesday, 31 January and Thursday, 1 February 2024.
This will enable the maintenance team to do a tie-in of the newly installed pipe section onto the existing water supply infrastructure. It will also afford the team the opportunity to conduct investigations in order to isolate any unknown connections on the old water network. All efforts will be made to minimise the inconvenience. Residents are kindly requested to store enough water in advance for domestic consumption.
This work forms part of the Water and Sanitation Directorate's proactive infrastructure maintenance and upgrade programme which ensures the future continuity of water supply by addressing the issue of unaccounted for water.
The City sincerely regrets any inconvenience caused.
