Meet the Mayor
The Mayor is the head of local government in Cape Town, and is elected by Council every five years. The main role of the Mayor is to identify the needs of the residents of the municipality, and recommend ways to realise those needs within the City's budget and in terms of the Integrated Development Plan. The Mayor also monitors the administration, reviews the performance of the municipality and oversees service delivery.
About

His reason for political activism has been to eradicate extreme poverty in South Africa, and achieve a society where the circumstances of one’s birth do not define life chances.
