What we do
Our department is responsible for managing the City’s accounting function and cash flow, making investments, raising external finance through bond issues (or servicing existing loans), conducting its banking transactions, safeguarding its assets and liabilities, and performing the legislative oversight role over the City’s municipal entities.
We also facilitate the City’s annual credit rating, manage its insurance portfolio and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.

Accounting and Asset Management Branch
The Accounting and Asset Management section is divided into the Accounting and Asset management divisions. The City’s accounting activities are summarised in the Annual Financial Statements and the Consolidated Financial Statements.
Treasury Branch
The Treasury section comprises the Bank Reconciliation, External Loans and External Financing Fund and Investments, and Cash Flow divisions.
Insurance Branch
Within the Insurance section, the divisions are Insurance Claims Services, Risk Management and Underwriting, and Compensation for Occupational Health Injuries and Diseases (COID).
Investor Relations and Compliance Branch
This section manages investor relations and performs the legislative oversight role over the City’s municipal entities by administering corporate governance, financial and administrative issues.
