What we do

We aim to maximise the capability and potential of the City’s staff by providing corporate direction in terms of human resources policies, strategies and developing our staff effectively to achieve the City’s business needs.

We achieve this through a professional, efficient and effective HR service to business and all other relevant stakeholders. We provide the following services:

• Salary and personnel administration
• Talent management
• Training and development

Our aim is to ensure that the City is recognised as a responsible and customer centric employer.

We are passionate about delivering the right people, with the right skills and competencies, at the right time and in the right place. We work collaboratively to ensure that the City’s biggest asset (its employees) are motivated and fully engaged.

We also provide financial support to deserving students in the community in line with City’s career streams and scarce skills. This is in support of one of the City’s Strategic Focus Areas, an opportunity City, as well as its objectives in the Integrated Development Plan, economic inclusion.
