30 October – 9 November 2026
About
We intend amending a contract for the appointment of a legal panel for the provision of legal services for the collection of debts owed to the City, and we want to hear from you.
Notice is hereby given in term of section 116(3) of the Local Government: Municipal Finance Management Act, No. 56 of 2003 (MFMA) that the City of Cape Town (“the City”) intends to amend the contract listed in the table below:
| Tender number and description | Reason for amendment | Current expiry date |
|---|---|---|
| Tender 370C/2020/21: Provision of Professional Services in the Appointment of a Legal Panel for the Provision of Legal Services for the Collection of Debts owed to the City of Cape Town | The proposed amendment seeks to clarify and update certain pricing and disbursement provisions of the contract to provide certainty regarding the recovery of necessary legal expenses incurred in the collection of municipal debt. The amendments include the definition and treatment of disbursements, the inclusion of advocate and correspondent attorney costs where required for complex debt recovery matters, the addition of certain legal process-related expenses, and the correction of administrative and pricing schedule provisions. The amendments are intended to improve contract administration, align the contract with operational requirements, and support the effective recovery of debt owed to the City, without changing the fundamental nature or scope of the services originally procured. | 30 June 2028 |
Notice is further given in accordance with section 21 of the Local Government Municipal Systems Act, No. 32 of 2000, that you can submit comments in respect of the proposed amendments.
