| Roadworks on Jakes Gerwel Drive and Jan Smuts Drive | Roadworks on Jakes Gerwel Drive and Jan Smuts Drive | | <img alt="" src="https://resource.capetown.gov.za/cityassets/PublishingImages/header_transport1.jpg" style="BORDER:0px solid;" /> | <p>The City of Cape Town has begun roadworks on Jakes Gerwel Drive, between Voortrekker Road and Frans Conradie Drive, in Goodwood. Once this section is complete, the City’s Roads Infrastructure Management team will move on to Jan Smuts Drive, working from Oude Molen High School to Welwyn Avenue. The work will take place at night, from 19:00 to 05:30, Sunday to Friday, and is scheduled for completion by mid-February 2026, pending any unforeseen delays. </p> | ‘I would like to thank all residents and road users in the affected areas for their patience and cooperation as we work to keep Cape Town moving on safer, improved road surfaces.
