Register to stay updated: King David Mowbray Golf Course proposed mixed-use development

On Wednesday, 13 November 2024 the City of Cape Town officially launched the public participation process for a proposed mixed-use development situated on the King David Mowbray Golf Course (KDMGC) and the adjacent vacant site. This transformative project will include affordable housing, commercial spaces and public facilities, designed to meet diverse community needs and support sustainable growth.

The City of Cape Town’s Economic Growth Directorate is inviting residents, businesses, and interested parties to register and participate in shaping this impactful initiative.
This comes after Mayco and Council recently approved the initiation of a public participation process for the release of the Pinelands site for mixed-use development. See here.
The directorate has appointed service provider Infinity to manage the stakeholder engagement process that will take place over the coming months. Once registered, further communication will be sent out to inform the public of upcoming opportunities for public participation in the new year.
The Pinelands site, located just north of the N2 Freeway, offers prime access to employment hubs and residential areas. Approximately 42,8 hectares have been designated for integrated development that balances economic, social, and environmental priorities, creating a vibrant, inclusive community space.
The site for investigation is bounded by Settlers Way (N2) to the south, Links Drive to the north and Raapenberg Road to the west. It consists of:
• Mowbray Golf Course; and
• Clyde Pinelands Association Football Club, located to the east of the golf course across the Elsies River canal.
