Read more below:</p> | <p><img src="https://resource.capetown.gov.za/cityassets/Media%20Images%202/bree%20lane.jpg6.jpg" alt="" style="margin:5px;width:421px;" /></p><p>'I was out in Bree Street this week to see the exciting progress being made with the upgrade of the Bree Street cycle lane between Shortmarket Street and Hans Strijdom Avenue. This is a pilot project, and the first phase of protecting the existing cycle lanes between Shortmarket Street and Riebeek Street is already well under way. I can say that the implementation of these tactical bollards and kerbs will definitely make the cycle lane along the much-loved and bustling Bree Street safer to use,' said the City's Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.</p><p> <img src="https://resource.capetown.gov.za/cityassets/Media%20Images%202/bree%202.jpeg" alt="" style="margin:5px;width:420px;" /></p><p>The Young Urbanists have been driving this initiative, with the main funder being Supplier Development Initiatives (SDI) and with the assistance of various Urban Mobility teams at the City of Cape Town and the Central City Improvement District (CCID).</p><p>'Together the City; Young Urbanists and the CCID have made this progress possible.
