City empowering youth at its rental units

The City continues to carry out maintenance and upgrades at its Community Residential Units (CRUs) across the City and we are committed to improving service request turnaround times. Our staff members and contractors are working hard to upgrade our public housing, which will improve the lives and living conditions of residents. On average, the City attends to more than 140 service requests per month in Uitsig alone and we continue to seek ways to improve on our delivery. Over the past two years, the City has spent approximately R1 billion in maintenance at our CRUs.

‘I am pleased by the repair work we have seen in Uitsig today. There are opportunities for study and employment that young people may not have even heard of or considered. As Youth Month comes to an end, it is time for our young people to imagine building a prosperous, successful future for themselves and their loved ones,' said Councillor Booi.

End

2022-06-29T22:00:00ZGP0|#1d539e44-7c8c-4646-887d-386dc1d95d70;L0|#01d539e44-7c8c-4646-887d-386dc1d95d70|City news;GTSet|#62efe227-07aa-45e7-944c-ceebacca891dGP0|#fe7b3a38-6458-4697-bc04-2fad017150d3;L0|#0fe7b3a38-6458-4697-bc04-2fad017150d3|CRU;GTSet|#2e3de6c1-9951-4747-8f53-470629a399bb;GP0|#3e84e2ed-3e2d-44ae-a5b6-af54ef207755;L0|#03e84e2ed-3e2d-44ae-a5b6-af54ef207755|maintenance;GP0|#612315cc-1830-4820-aca6-13dd93e68a2d;L0|#0612315cc-1830-4820-aca6-13dd93e68a2d|housing allocation policy10
