De Waal Park
Beneath Table Mountain, in the heart of Cape Town, lies De Waal Park, a beautiful oasis away from the bustle of city life. The park is cherished as a serene meeting place for a diverse community of Capetonians, including slack-rope walkers, picnickers, tree and bird enthusiasts, runners, families and dog owners. Dogs delight in the pond around the Victorian fountain, a cool retreat in summer, while children play on swings and roundabouts

The park is a venue for the popular Summer Concerts series that runs on Sunday afternoons from March to April. Concerts are free, start at 15:00 and range from classical to rock.

Together with the City of Cape Town, The Friends of De Waal Park Association ensures the park is kept clean and safe and is regularly upgraded and well maintained.

Read about the history of De Waal Park and other district parks:
A History of Cape Town's District Parks Booklet
GP0|#1c6a3718-7ebe-41f6-8815-ef729ef7dbbc;L0|#01c6a3718-7ebe-41f6-8815-ef729ef7dbbc|Leisure and relaxation;GTSet|#153637b8-411d-4bf7-8214-7237f5d775f0;GP0|#2392bffa-ec48-4d14-a19a-8a266247fac3;L0|#02392bffa-ec48-4d14-a19a-8a266247fac3|Cycling and biking;GP0|#9c8c0075-e925-4024-a33f-8df78b8a4f92;L0|#09c8c0075-e925-4024-a33f-8df78b8a4f92|Dog walking;GP0|#50d6cff6-8384-4eb0-8b2b-e4f2b3ad46b0;L0|#050d6cff6-8384-4eb0-8b2b-e4f2b3ad46b0|Running and jogging
Please see the Recreation and Parks Tariffs Booklet in the document download section below for more information about bookings and tariffs.

Valentino Jeftha

Telephone:
021 444 3784

12 hectares
GP0|#36fb11f6-3340-4633-8a08-816df4d3bfb3;L0|#036fb11f6-3340-4633-8a08-816df4d3bfb3|Water features;GTSet|#4be4596d-cdfe-41f7-a569-9d9c4e16c716;GP0|#7ef8afb9-d736-4755-b3d1-06edd79fffdf;L0|#07ef8afb9-d736-4755-b3d1-06edd79fffdf|Footpath and trails;GP0|#a869cc14-4edf-4bdb-9cca-8684b722178f;L0|#0a869cc14-4edf-4bdb-9cca-8684b722178f|Garden;GP0|#9c77c8ee-e3a5-4614-938b-ab24d30ca4eb;L0|#09c77c8ee-e3a5-4614-938b-ab24d30ca4eb|Public toilets;GP0|#5e10a420-e5a5-4100-b9b9-d0b7105ce184;L0|#05e10a420-e5a5-4100-b9b9-d0b7105ce184|Play area and equipment;GP0|#0d6ec212-bddb-480a-9ab5-b6392f736bc8;L0|#00d6ec212-bddb-480a-9ab5-b6392f736bc8|Animals allowedUpper Orange Road, Gardens
September to March
06:30 – 20:00

April to August
07:00 – 18:00
