Appeal a tender
You can appeal a tender decision if the appeal is made to the City of Cape Town within 21 days of notification of a tender being awarded.
How to lodge an appeal
Appeals must be submitted to the City Manager at the address stated in the bid document.
The appeal must include:
- reasons for the appeal
- the way in which your rights have been affected
- how you would like the situation to be fixed
The successful bidder’s contract will usually only commence after the 21-day appeal period has expired if no appeals were received or after any appeals received have been finalised. Sometimes the City may choose to commence a contract even though the 21-day period for appeals has not yet expired.
The successful and unsuccessful bidders will be notified in writing once a final award has been made or if any other final decisions have been made in relation to the tender (for example: cancellation of the tender).
