Apply for a temporary structure

<div class="ExternalClassC2DC95A0FA6E407AAD75CEB4218F4379"><p>Events, informal trading markets and building sites are all examples of where you will typically find temporary structures. To ensure public safety, you will need permission to erect a temporary structure. </p></div>

<span> <h2 class="sectHeading">How to apply </h2> <p>A temporary structure could be applied for as part of <a href="https://www.capetown.gov.za/City-Connect/apply/Planning-building-and-development/Building-plan-applications/Apply-for-a-building-plan">a building application</a> for example, a builder’s shed on site for storage. A temporary structure could also be a tent, stand or stage and permission to erect such a structure forms part of your <a href="https://www.capetown.gov.za/City-Connect/Apply/Licences-and-permits/Filming-and-events/Apply-for-an-event-permit">events permit</a>. </p> <p>In either case, it is best to complete the forms as part of your general application as your temporary structure would not be an isolated application. You will need to request permission to erect temporary structures such as tents, stalls and stages and often linked to an events permit.
