Please see the facilities listed below for individual programme schedules:

Educare programme

Life skills programme
Students from surrounding schools attend life skills classes at some of our facilities. The centres organise talks from organisations such as Safeline who lecture on child abuse, SASSA who give advice about savings and finances, and SAPS who teach basic safety and security. The programme continues in the school holidays and all youth are welcome to attend. Contact one of the facilities offering this service to find out if they can teach life skills classes to your school.

Outdoor

Parks programme
Our Parks programme takes place at public parks in the areas surrounding participating community centres and typically involves a variety of children’s games and activities. Occasionally, the facilities may organise face painting and safety talks from the Law Enforcement, Traffic and Coordination Department and the Fire and Rescue Department. The Parks programme does not take place on a regular basis, but usually during the school holidays when the weather is good. The facilities below organise the parks programme:

Spray parks
Our spray parks are designed for families who find it difficult to get to a beach or a pool during school holidays. Our parks have a number of different spray features and include safe areas where adults can watch over their children as they play safely in the light spray. Since there is no standing water, there is no threat of drowning at a spray park.

Our spray parks are open to the public at different times. Find a spray park in your area
