What’s New?
1O7 - THE NUMBER FOR ALL EMERGENCIES
107 is the emergency number to phone when your life or property is in danger and you are within the 021 dialing code area.
What to do right away:
- Write "All Emergencies: 107" on or near your telephone at home and at work
- Save the number 021 480 7700 on your cellphone under the name "All Emergencies"
Please tell your family and friends about the new 107 emergency number. Teach your children how to dial the number – and explain that the number is strictly for emergencies only - prank calls clog up the centre and can cost lives!
The single 107 number will help streamline emergency services and offer the caller a more efficient service. Please do not phone this number for any other services. The general enquiry number for the City of Cape Town is 0860 103 089.
Residents can no longer phone individual fire stations - all existing fire emergency numbers in the Southern Peninsula are blocked. Residents must dial 107 from Telkom lines or 021 480 7700 from cellphones to report fire emergencies in the area.
If you see an emergency or if you are in an emergency situation yourself, please dial 107 or 021 480 7700 immediately.
