Guga S’Thebe Cultural Centre
The Guga S’Thebe Cultural Centre is a public space where communities can come together and enjoy art, design and performance. The centre has six active and tenanted studio spaces, a gathering space, an amphitheatre, an arts and craft shop and a multi-purpose theatre. When visiting the crafter studios you can browse their collections of locally sewn products, pottery, beading, and mosaic works. You can also enjoy drumming performances.

The multi-purpose theatre was added to the centre in 2015 through shared partnerships, community participation, and social integration. The theatre represents innovative and sustainable design, as it is built out of old shipping containers, recycled wooden fruit crates and locally available building materials like straw and clay.

GP0|#40934f2d-4025-4496-9bbe-0b96d5c12d17;L0|#040934f2d-4025-4496-9bbe-0b96d5c12d17|Functions and events;GTSet|#153637b8-411d-4bf7-8214-7237f5d775f0;GP0|#8e8ec807-3a41-4d42-9b2a-e0eba048c901;L0|#08e8ec807-3a41-4d42-9b2a-e0eba048c901|Arts and crafts;GP0|#2dbb5834-0e4a-4b6c-9888-cd625d5bb758;L0|#02dbb5834-0e4a-4b6c-9888-cd625d5bb758|Concerts
Xoliswa Morara

Telephone:
021 695 3493

Email:
xoliswa.morara@capetown.gov.za

Facility Officer

Xoliswa Morara

Telephone:
021 695 3493

Email:
xoliswa.morara@capetown.gov.za

Marco Morgan

Telephone:
021 417 4134

Email:
marco.morgan@capetown.gov.za

Dome: Maximum 80 people
Amphitheatre: Maximum 120 people
Multi-purpose theatre: Maximum 200 people
GP0|#d662c5f6-f850-4a9d-8962-74abfbecb182;L0|#0d662c5f6-f850-4a9d-8962-74abfbecb182|Facility hire;GTSet|#4be4596d-cdfe-41f7-a569-9d9c4e16c716;GP0|#7ef74474-136c-4b10-8dc5-0f74747fbae1;L0|#07ef74474-136c-4b10-8dc5-0f74747fbae1|Shop;GP0|#9c77c8ee-e3a5-4614-938b-ab24d30ca4eb;L0|#09c77c8ee-e3a5-4614-938b-ab24d30ca4eb|Public toilets;GP0|#567053b6-5896-4426-814d-af0276bc3698;L0|#0567053b6-5896-4426-814d-af0276bc3698|Disability access;GP0|#6fb82646-b411-48e6-b0d4-52898add42c8;L0|#06fb82646-b411-48e6-b0d4-52898add42c8|ParkingKing Langalibalele Avenue (previously Washington Avenue), Langa
Entrance is free but costs or fees for certain activities or events may apply.

Please check with the facility for opening hours.
