|Office of the Executive Mayor ||<p>Every day we strive to be the kind of government that residents deserve. We are passionate about creating an enabling environment for economic growth and job creation, delivering quality services to all residents, and serving the citizens of Cape Town as a well-governed and corruption-free administration. We believe this is the best way to better the lives of everyone who calls Cape Town their home.</p><p>All our efforts in this regard are channeled through the Strategy and Operations Department which is organisationally situated within the Office of the City Manager and the Office of the Executive Mayor.
</p><p>This department is at the service of the Executive Mayor, members of the Mayoral Committee, committees of Council, the City Manager, the Executive Management Team, as well as the residents and various communities within the City.</p>
<p>Together, the members of this department are responsible for: </p><ul><li>the City’s Transversal Management System and Mayoral Dashboard System for performance monitoring and evaluation;</li><li>strategic alignment of all City-wide policies and strategies;</li><li>mayoral research;</li><li>major communications;</li><li>enhancing the City’s Capital Programme;</li><li>improving project management governance within the City;</li><li>coordinating the City’s international exchanges;</li><li>establishing international links; and</li><li>engaging with residents daily to ensure responsiveness and enhance service delivery by responding to and facilitating service delivery and community requests.</li></ul><p>These components come together as a centre of excellence that assists the Executive Mayor in ensuring that the organisation is aligned to the democratic mandate. </p><p>We work together to ensure the strategic alignment of the organisation as set out in our Integrated Development Plan (IDP) by developing systems, policies and strategies in line with the five pillars: Safe City, Caring City, Opportunity City, Well-run City, and Inclusive City.</p>||
