Support recreation and parks programmes<span> <h2 class="sectHeading">​​​​​​​​​​​​Partner </h2></span><p>The services, facilities and programmes are in great demand, which is why the City welcomes partnerships with various outside agencies including sports federations, NGOs, CBOs, funding agencies, developmental organisations, and international and local training institutions.</p><p>We partner with a number of associated organisations to provide recreational opportunities for Capetonians (especially the youth) and discourage harmful behaviour. This workshop will include information on the partnership process, monitoring and evaluation requirements and the partnership criteria. Organisations can send their proposal to the <a href="https://www.capetown.gov.za/Departments/Sport%20and%20Recreation%20Department">Recreation and Parks Department</a> following the workshop, where proposals will be scrutinised and evaluated according to set criteria. Approved partners will then be notified and a partnership agreement will be drawn up and signed.</p><p>The link to the invitation to the workshop will be available here in June 2017. The department can only accept proposal during this time and cannot accept proposals on an adhoc basis.</p> <span> </span><span> <h2 class="sectHeading">​​​​​​​​​​Donate</h2></span><p>Donations to our sports and recreation programmes take many forms; from small donations of prizes for events and competitions to equipment for facilities. Even small monetary donations add up and allow us to keep our programmes running.  </p> <span> <h2 class="sectHeading">​​​​​​​​​​Volunteer </h2></span><p>If you are 18 years or older, enjoy working with people and would like to volunteer, <a href="https://resource.capetown.gov.za/documentcentre/Documents/Procedures%2c%20guidelines%20and%20regulations/SPORT%20AND%20RECREATION%20DEPARTMENT%20PROGRAMMES.pdf" target="_blank">see our full list of programmes and schedules across all sport and recreation facilities</a> to find a programme that you would like to contribute to; or set up and run your own programme as a volunteer. Our volunteers gain work experience, interpersonal skills and a preference when part-time, seasonal employees are appointed. Before you volunteer, please take note of your responsibilities which are outlined in the <a href="https://resource.capetown.gov.za/documentcentre/Documents/Bylaws%20and%20policies/Volunteer%20Policy%20Framework%20-%20%28Policy%20number%2046579%29%20approved%20on%2028%20April%202016.pdf" target="_blank">Volunteer Policy Framework</a>.   </p><p> <strong>Training</strong><br>All first time volunteers must be trained.
