Resolution detail

RESOLVED that having considered the City of Cape Town Traffic Calming Policy and the recommendation from Transport Planning & Network Management Department;

  1. Noordelik Avenue is a Class 4 Collector located within a medium-density residential area of Devil’s Peak Estate.

  1. Our assessment indicated that Freesia Avenue Park is located along Noordelik Avenue, which may attract vulnerable pedestrian activity across the study roadway.

  1. Therefore, the potential for pedestrian/vehicle conflict along Noordelik Avenue is considered low and non-compliant with Section 7(3) of the Traffic Calming Policy.

  1. Given the above and considering the City of Cape Town Traffic Policy, we recommend the implementation of two speed humps in the vicinity of Freesia Avenue Park.

  1. The above recommendations are illustrated in DRAWING 4620/TNDC3698/01.
