Resolution detail

RESOLVED that having considered the City of Cape Town Traffic Calming Policy and the recommendation from Transport Planning & Network Management Department;
 

1. Gladiolus Avenue is a Class 5 Local Street located within a medium-density residential area of Devil’s Peak Estate.

2. Our assessment indicated that Gladiolus Close Park is located along Gladiolus Avenue, which may attract vulnerable pedestrian activity across the study roadway.

3. Therefore, the potential for pedestrian/vehicle conflict along Gladiolus Avenue can be considered high and compliant with Section 7(3) of the Traffic Calming Policy.

4. We recommend the implementation of two speed humps along Gladiolus Avenue, in the vicinity of the Gladiolus Close Park.
