Mr Mbuku informed the members that the report is intended to provide an update on the progress of the construction of the synthetic pitch at NY116 in Gugulethu. The project has a total budget of R7 520 000.00 which includes the cost for construction as well as the cost for consultant fees. Gibb (Pty) Ltd, previously known as Arcus Gibb (Pty) Ltd was awarded Tender No. 145C/2015/16 for the South Region: Provision of Professional Consultant Services for Community Services Construction Projects. The consultants have been appointed from stage 1 to stage 6, in the following way: Stage 1: Inception Stage 2: Concept and Viability Stage 3: Design Development Stage 4: Documentation and Procurement Stage 5: Contract Administration and Inspection Stage 6: Close-out A detailed design of the synthetic pitch, including lighting is currently underway. A draft tender document along with drawings was submitted 02 June 2017 for scrutiny by the Project Manager. A Bid Specification Committee meeting will be set up with Supply Chain Management (SCM) and a Contract Required By date will be agreed upon. Once the tender has been finalized, it will be advertised for a period of 30 days after which it will go to SCM for scheduling. In conjunction with Recreation and Parks, the consultant team will perform the tender evaluation. Taking into account the timelines allowed for the entire procurement process, it is anticipated that the project will be ready for construction by February 2018. The members of the Subcouncil noted and accepted the status information report and requested that an update report on progress be submitted to the Subcouncil meeting during October or November 2017 for latest.
