The Subcouncil Manager reported that the matter of upgrading or the demolition the houses is still pending which is an ongoing process. An open day has been scheduled by the Recreation and Parks for February 2025 to discuss various matters pertaining to the Maitland cemetery.
Cllr Steenberg expressed his gratitude to the assistance the Subcouncil have provided him with this matter. He further expressed his concerns related to the service delivery issues at the Maitland cemetery. He said that if the City goes forward with the eviction order he would not be in support of the application, officials has been dishonest with the applications submitted to the councilor.
The Chairperson said that the resident can challenge the court order through the High Court if they feel robbed by the COCT processes.
