That based on the assessment and having considered the CoCT’s Traffic Calming Policy, traffic calming BE SUPPORTED along Franshoek Road and 1x Raised Pedestrian Crossing.

That the recommended 1x raised pedestrian crossing BE SUPPORTED as per the layout reflected on agenda page 556 only.

That due to the ward allocation budget process being concluded and finalised for the financial years 2024/25 and 2025/26, the application be placed on the awaiting funds schedule in terms of the outer financial years.

That should the community wish to fund the 1x raised pedestrian crossing (as per layout plan 2), the relevant line department to liaise with the applicant(s) in this regard.

Applicant(s) to enter into a service agreement with the line department to establish the risk, responsibility, payment and construction, etc. should the community wish to fund such application.

Ward 112: Basson/Squire Roads, Durbanville (TNDN4974). A request for traffic calming was received from Dudley Mare.
That based on the assessment and having considered the City of Cape Town’s Traffic Calming Policy, traffic calming BE SUPPORTED along Basson Road and 2x Speed Humps BE SUPPORTED at the approximate positions marked on the layout plan below. The application be placed on the awaiting funds schedule as the ward allocation budget ito the financial years 2024/25 and 2025/26 were concluded.

Ward 103: Intersection of Wingerd Drive and Beaumont Avenue, Vredekloof (TNDN4994). A request for appropriate traffic calming measures was received from Johann Koegelenberg.
The ward councillor indicated that he did a site visit in consultation with the Vredekloof CID and the following proposal be investigated: That a raised pedestrian crossing on the southern side of the intersection, just after or before the stop street be investigated and the outcome thereof be reported on.
That a SITE VISIT with the line department be conducted to address the above proposal, such proposal be investigated and reported on.

Ward 105: Florida Street, between Murray & De Keur and Protea Street, Durbanville. Florida Street (speed humps) and Eikendal / Florida (4-way stop), Durbanville – TNDN 4995. (Ref No: 7200608561). A request for speed humps along Florida Street and/or a 4-way stop control at the intersection of Eikendal and Florida was received from Carol Millar.
Cllr Berry alluded to an incident involving a child being knocked over by an vehicle and stated that in light of this incident consideration be given to have the matter re-submitted ito Boland Way. Ald Fourie stated that this would constitute a new application along Florida and Boland Street. Cllr Berry will liaise with the applicant in this regard
That having considered the City of Cape Town’s Traffic Calming Policy, traffic calming not BE SUPPORTED along Florida Street.
