It be NOTED that an application for a liquor licence received from Downtown Lounge was considered in terms of sub delegated authority and that the following recommendation was forwarded to the Liquor Authority in terms of the Western Cape Liquor Act, 2008, as amended:
Subcouncil 4 recommends that the application for a Consumption ON Premises Liquor Licence, reference no. LLA24050026, for the business Downtown Lounge at 11 Starck Elsies River Industria should NOT BE SUPPORTED for the following reasons:
· There is currently an application with Land Use Management for consent use to allow a place of entertainment including on-site consumption of alcohol. Such an application has not yet been decided on and LUM can therefore not support the liquor licence application at this stage. The current zoning of the property is General Industry, which does not allow the proposed sale of alcohol as a primary use right.
Fire Services Do Not Support the application. Applicant to submit a Fire Protection Plan to the Local Authority for approval.
