Mr. Abrahams introduced the report. The report is from 01 July 2023- 31 December 2023 which speaks to Social Development Programs offered in Subcouncil 14 area. Below are some of the programmes they offer: - Strengthening Families: they offered this in ward 40 within a period of 8 to 9 weeks - Families at risk: this program is aimed at reducing substance abuse within the communities - They also offer preventative programs in high schools in ward 40 and 49 - Youth Development Programs: they focus on skills development and work readiness programs for youth. They had 2 programmes in ward 40 (Gugulethu and Borcherds quarry) where they offered entrepreneurship, self-awareness and work skills programmes. - They offered training to different forums and have a range of training planned for wards. - ECD Organisations Registration Process: in this program they encourage ECD’s to register on the City of Cape Town’s organisations database. They had a few registration drives in Manenberg and Gugulethu. - Vulnerable Groups: they have covered Ward 46 and wWrd 40 - Men’s Empowerment Programmes: they had EPWP’s running this program in Ward 40 - Departmental Youth Ambassadors Programmes: they had 2 youth ambassadors programmes in Ward 49 Councillor Adams amended page 36 to specify that the beneficiary of this program is Bokmakierie Primary School located in Ward 49. Mr. Abrahams has agreed that they will include an outcomes report in in their next report. Ald Jacobs mentioned on page 37 that the Manenberg Forum was listed twice in the percentage of supportedto identified ECD forums. She was worried if it was a duplicate or if the organization gained double the benefit. Mr. Daniels confirmed that was a duplication.
