Based on the conclusion of the investigation, it is recommended that 9th Avenue between Van Riebeeck Road and Perth Street remain as is with two-way traffic flow. Further traffic investigation along Van Riebeeck Road is require to determine a solution to address the existing congestion along the roadway before consideration can be given to convert 9th Avenue between Van Riebeeck Road and Perth Street into a one-way system.

Investigation for a Traffic Signal or roundabout at the Brackenell BLVD/Heiling Street/Muiden Street in Brackenfell Investigation for a Traffic Signal or roundabout at the Brackenell BLVD/Heiling Street/Muiden Street in Brackenfell (Ward 8) Based on the conclusion of the investigation, on the SARTSM vehicle queue length warrants, a traffic signal is currently warranted at the intersection of Brackenfell Boulevard/Helling Street /Muiden Street, from an operational point of view. A roundabout would be supported since there is insufficient space within the road reserve to accommodate an appropriately designed roundabout. All new traffic signals are currently being installed with UPS batteries to ensure that they continue to operate during loadshedding.
