be amended to read that:
The Human Settlements Directorate be tasked to do a detailed analysis and audit of the temporary residential areas in Ward 51, Langa, namely LTA Shipping Containers, AmaZozos in LTA and Zone 2, in order to find out what needs to be done to improve the living conditions of the residents living in these TRA’s.

be supported and submitted to the Human Settlements Directorate for investigation and feedback at the next Subcouncil Meeting, scheduled for 18 October 2023.

The Chairperson addressed the item.
Mr. Daniels reported that he did not receive any feedback from the officials and will follow up and provide feedback to the Councillors.
Cllr McKenzie said that the MAYCO member and his team should be invited to the Activities Day to provide a detailed report and feedback with all the TRA’s and hostels in Langa.
Cllr Phakade said that the matter has been on Matters Receiving Attention for quite some time and it is not acceptable that officials do not give feedback with grievances from the community.
Cllr McKenzie said that the matter has been on the Matters Receiving Attention since 2023. He requested Cllr Phakade to refrain from using the phrase “the officials are useless”.
Cllr Phakade was muted and left the meeting at 10h25
Cllr Nyamakazi said that the manner officials from Human Settlements are conducting this matter is frustrating.
Cllr McKenzie said that he would like the MAYCO Member to be part of the meeting as it is unacceptable for the item to take this long to be resolved.
