Resolution detail

The Subcouncil Chairperson introduced this item and further gave an opportunity
to the Subcouncil Manager to indicate officials who will speak on items:
Ald Jacobs said most of the projects have been completed there are few that need
follow up with the project managers. She mentioned that the Scheldt Road Park
Upgrade must still be done.
Cllr Ngcombolo said that all his operational projects are on track, the Learners and
Drivers licence the participants were identified and the first group will write on the
20 May and also he had a meeting with the officials regarding the Heritage
function and all preparations are in place. He also mentioned that he is busy with
the officials from housing with allocation of beneficiaries who are moving from
Borchards Quarry Informal Settlement.
Cllr Nikelo said he would join Cllr Ngcombolo after the meeting on site.
Cllr Moses said that he would like Mr Cedras to assist regarding the progress at
Chapman’s peak.
Mr Kahla said that the requisition were created for fencing and the hard surfacefor the multi-purpose court on the 12 May and when they receive the Purchase
Order, they will engage with Cllr Moses and finalize the issue of local labor and the
project can start.
Cllr Cassiem said that the traffic calming project there is an available balance and
would like to know what can be done with the savings, and when will they be
receiving their equipment for the sport carnival.
Cllr Nikelo asked the Mr Daniels to check the funds and send an email to Cllr
Cassiem copying him in order to track and get responses from the officials. He
also said that the ward allocation budget is his budget and he should get updates
on the % of spending, and when officials do not report to councillors, he should be
informed in order for him to be able to escalate matters.
Cllr Adams said that he would like to get feedback regarding the ECD programme
and he told Mr Magagula that he is not happy with the progress of the programme
and the officials do not respond to him regarding the delivery date of the
equipment and we are approaching the financial year-end. He would like the
Subcouncil manager to get the information from the department.
Cllr Nikelo said that he would like Mr Daniels to send an email to the department
and revert to the Subcouncil.
There was unanimous agreement with the resolution.
RESOLVED
That the report on Progressive Capital Expenditure: April 2023 be NOTED with
comments made by Councillors.
