RESOLVED that the Executive Director for Community Services and Health, consider this request to extend the fence around Upper Leeuwen Street Park, Bo-Kaap, to enclose the neighbouring City servitude.

A meeting to be arranged with the ED Zukiswa Mandlana, Messrs. Brendon Abrahams, Mark Butler and Desmond Baart, to discuss this matter. Remains outstanding.

13/03/2023:The ED will meet with the stakeholders. Cllr Higham said that the servitude has been encroached now.

An agreement reached with the Director Recreation & Parks to move the fence to incorporate the servitute into the park. The Roads Department wil be responsibe to appoint a service provider to move the fence with their own budget. Implementation expected early in the new financial year.
Cllr Higham requested that the a written commitment from the Director: Recreation & Parks.

Cllr Higham made referenced to last month Subcouncil meeting, whereby it was requested that a written commitment from the Director: Recreation & Parks is expected in this regard.

Girshwin Fouldien advised that we have not yet received the commitment from the Director Rec & Parks, in writing, however, the project is in process.

Resolved that the Subcouncil 16 requests the Director, Recreation and Parks to submit in writing, the agreement for the fence to be moved, so that Subcouncil 16 will have a written record.
