The Subcouncil Chairperson introduced this item and further gave an opportunity to the official to provide a detailed report. Miss. Mvunelo introduced herself mentioning that she from Urban Mobility Directorate. She was representing Ester Moag who is attending another meeting. She indicated that the item was for noting of the public participation process and for the public to comment on the stop locations that are planned for MyCity phase 2A. There will be information sessions where the public will be invited to comment. However, there are no dates for the information sessions yet. The public participation process is scheduled for the 10th of October until the 30th of November 2022. She referred to the previous item and said that the public participation is a legal requirement in terms of the Systems Act. In the Urban Mobility Directorate, they make sure that they use all the relevant tools such as advertising in the local newspapers to reach out to the majority of the public. The Subcouncil Chairperson mentioned that they will wait for the information session dates to be available. The Subcouncil Manager wanted to find out if the information sessions are the only methods that will be used for community input. Miss. Mvunelo indicated that another method that will be used is to get the community members to submit their comments to the Subcouncil offices. Miss. Mahlasela acknowledged that she works with this department. She mentioned that Transport Department will make use of dynamic methods to advertise this process. They will make use of local newspapers, Subcouncils, open days, Facebook pages, WhatsApp chats and media release. The Subcouncil Chairperson requested the Subcouncil Facebook page to be active before the next Subcouncil meeting.Cllr Nikelo moved for noting of the report. Cllr Adams seconded the proposal.
