RESOLVED that having considered the City of Cape Town Traffic Calming Policy, Transport Department;

in terms of Section 7(1) (c), physical traffic calming measures cannot be used on Class 3 roads to regulate drivers’ speeds. The request for physical traffic calming measures is therefore declined.

we recommend that the existing at-grade yield controlled pedestrian crossing to be evaluated for a possible signalisation project. The proposed evaluation is to be conducted as soon as consulting funding and appointment becomes available with a view to for evaluation to be concluded during second quarter - of FY23.
