The Ward Councillors were afforded the opportunity to speak on this matter
RESOLVED that the Progressive Capital Expenditure: July b 2022 BE NOTED and the Finance Department to give update on the following:
Ward 54 – Cllr Nicola Jowell
Cllr raised the following:

Page 68: URBAN MOBILITY- Upgrade Roads: responsible official is Brendon Abrahams and not Bernard Oosthuisen, as reflected in the report.

War Memorial is not on the PCER- money should be spent urgently.

Clifford Road park-Money should be reallocated to the promenade, to be used for the upgrade of the gym equipment.
Ward 57- Cllr Yusuf Mohamed
Onsite investigations were done for the placement of the LPR cameras. Money will be spent in the next 2 weeks
Ward 77- Cllr Francine Higham

Burnside Park -Concerned that contractor is engaging with the community. They do not want gym equipment to be installed. Funds will be reallocated.
Subcouncil Manager,Mr Girshwin Fouldien, stated that the relocation of the funding will be done via Finance and that the name of the
project be changed.
Ald Kempthorne is concerned that Parks is still going ahead with this project. Will escalate this matter to the Director.

Van Riebeek Park -Scope of work to be determined.
Ward 115- Cllr Ian McMahon

There is a concern regarding the finance allocation for the traffic related issues for wards 54 and 115.

Last year R40 000 was allocated to the Company’s Gardens. The project was cancelled. Cllr McMahon enquired whether Parks Department is continuing to build the channels in Government Avenue. Site visit to be arranged.
Councillors commended Subcouncil for the good performance in the previous financial year.
