That Subcouncil NOTED the proposed permanent full and partial road closures to accommodate IRT phase 2A East trunk route
a) Based on the objections to the proposed permanent full and partial road closures and the responses to the objections to these objections as considered, that the Transport Portfolio Committee recommends to MAYCO and thereafter Council the approval of the approval of the following full and partial road closures.

i. Full closure of 1st Avenue (at intersection with Emms Drive, Nyanga)
ii. Median closure on Govan Mbeki Road (M9) at intersection with “The Island” access road, Khayelitsha
iii. Median closure on AZ Berman Drive (M36/MR121) at intersection with Bottlebrush Road, Mitchells Plain
iv. Median closure on AZ Berman Drive (MR36/MR121) at intersection with Tuberose/Petunia Street, Mitchells Plain
b) Based on the fact that the full and partial road closures allow for the implementation of thePhase2A MyCiTi services to / from Mitchells Plain and Khayelitsha (refer to Council resolution C18/03/16) that the Transport Portfolio Committee recommends to MAYCO and thereafter Council the approval of the full and partial road closures as detailed above.
c) Based on the objections to the permanent full and partial road closures and the responses to these objections as considered, that the Transport Portfolio Committee recommends to MAYCO and thereafter Council that a directive be issued to the Transport Directorate to submit an application to the Western Cape Government (as road authority) for the following full and partial rod closures.
i. Median closure on Govan Mbeki Road (m9/mr122) at intersection with
Philippi Village access road, Philippi
ii. Full closure of Indwe Street (at intersection with Govan Mbeki Road, Philippi (M9/MR122)
