RESOLVED |
Subcouncil 24 supports the recommendation that:
It is RECOMMENDED that the motion submitted by Ald Stuart Pringle be SUPPORTED and that the Subcouncil request a report from the City of Cape Town’s Environmental Health Department’s dealing with the issue of the pig farming along the railway line in Sir Lowry’s Pass Village which is having a negative impact on local, neighbouring residents, given that the City’s search for alternative land has not yet been successful and that the Urban Management Directorate convene an urgent meeting of all stakeholders to determine a way forward.
Mover: Ald Stuart Pringle and seconded by Cllr Victor Isaacs with no objections to the motion. . |

Activity Day Meeting - 6 October 2021
The Chairperson appreciated that the Health Department are doing their regular inspections but in terms of the new animal keeping bylaw and would like the item be referred to the relevant departments so that they can see what steps they able to take to deal with this matter.
Goodman stated that he was has been sent from pillar to post and nobody seems to give clear direction but will also now forward it to the Department that deals with the animal keeping bylaw.
The Chairperson suggested that this matter be taken up with the Director seeing that he was part of the meeting and indicating to him that everyone is ducking and diving in giving assistance to the matter and to inform him that the Subcouncil is busy forwarding the matter to the Animal Bylaw department as well.
RESOLVED
The Subcouncil to refer the matter to the Area Director, Dr Mdunyelwa for his intervention as the other departments are not assisting the Manager as they are sending him from pillar to post.
That the item REMAINS on the MRA’s.
